FEED & LINKS OF LONDON

On Tuesday night, Heather and I attended the launch of FEED Collection, a line of bracelets in collaboration with Links of London designed with fashion and charity in mind. Lauren Bush’s foundation, FEED, has been striving to end world hunger for almost six years now and these new bracelets are the next step in spreading the word and stopping the famine. With five bracelets total, represented by a different symbol and engraved with a number on the back, each style signifies the individual impact each bracelet has and is a constant reminder of the impact your purchase made. We are so glad we had the opportunity to attend such a charitable event and learn more about the cause from Lauren Bush herself.  We think these bracelets are the new IT wrist piece so if you don’t have one yet, click here, join the power and we all thank you for being a part of the solution to world hunger.

(Special thanks to Christina it was such a pleasure getting to know you! xoxo)

REED KRAKOFF

I first heard about Krakoff in a half-page spotlight feature in ELLE magazine a few years ago and something about his work ethic, simplistic designs and insane attention to detail was so compelling. He saved the Coach empire with his own two hands all the while launching his own coveted label. Not only is he an incredible designer but he is a smart, quick witted and exceptionally talented business man. We can all take a lesson from Reed each day as well venture out to fulfill our goals and follow our dreams. Below is an excerpt from the “Magazine” section he just launched on his website, a top 10 must have list for every woman. Enjoy!

GIVE ME COLOR: BLOOD ORANGE

I have thousands of folders on my personal laptop as well as my work pc filled with images from various website/tumblrs/blog/etc and it seems as though I keep becoming more and more drawn to this specific, blood orange, hue. Although it is a bit bright for fall I think it works in its own warm and cozy way, making it oh so right and I for one a digging it.

VERSACE TRIPLE THREAT

In the first pic we have Abbey Lee in the new 2011 Versace for H&M collection and the second is Cindy Crawford strutting her stuff down the Versace runway circa 1995. Crazy the amount of similarities in the two collections if you really look. Crawford and Gianni Versace old school have my vote any day.

THE STEVE JOBS EFFECT

The Macbook changed our expectations for a computer. The iPod changed the way which we listen to music. The iPhone changed the way in which we communicate. The iPad changed the way we read, see, understand and interpret the most simple activities. Pixar changed the way we watch movies. Steven Jobs’ innovation vastly changed the world, created a universal culture known as Apple. As someone who was born into a generation of computers I can proudly say my first was in fact a Macintosh; I remember the rainbow Apple as if it was yesterday. Before I even knew who Steve Jobs was, he was impacting my life and I am positive there are many of us out there who can say the same. He was a consummate innovator who literally brought life to our lives through technology and for that, I am truly thankful.

“Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish.”

-Steven Jobs 1955-2011

Below some of the ways in which Apple’s effect even reached into the fashion industry:
