SEEING SPOTS

I don’t even think Cruella De Vil would know how to handle the amount of dalmatian print showing up at retail all over the world right now. Of course, all of these styles are conceptual and not actually dalmatian skin. (that would send PETA over the edge, I am sure of it.) BUT, I do think its a great alternative to the overkill of animal we are seeing for the umpteenth season. ThOSE Penelope + Coco pumps are DYNAMITE and literally my favorite thing on the internet right now, I would HIGHLY encourage any fashionista in their right mind to swoop them before they are sold out. How do you guys feel about dalmatian? Are you going to rock this trend once our bone chilling Manhattan winter sets in?

SS13 MENS OVERVIEW

In case you haven’t had a chance to check out the Men’s SS13 analysis, its up on the site ! Some key call outs for SS13 highlight the continuous global acceptance of androgyny. Men’s handbags become one of the largest categories while more casual, street influences are noted in footwear.The biggest trend across mens and women’s eyewear was the emergence of a reflective lens and the continuation of colored frames. JKC: TIL DEATH DO US PART

Most of you would probably recognize Jessica Kagan Cushman’s Nantucket bangles or canvas totes which sport witty sayings such as “Nobody Puts Baby in the Corner” and “My Other Bag is a Chanel”. Her style of accessories allow the wearer to express themselves with bright colors, sarcasm and a whole lot of flare. When I met Jessica at Premiere Classe in Paris this summer I immediately fell in love with these skull rings covered in diamonds and told her I would literally wear it as my wedding band (someday very far from now). Skulls have a very fine line between tacky and trendy but I really think this style is simple enough to make a statement with out looking like Bret Michaels. Plus, what is a more literal way to say “til death do us part” than rocking a skull on that wedding finger.

ALL THAT GLITTERS IS [NOT] GOLD

With the holiday season quickly approaching I have all I can do to not explode sequins. It seems as though every year each retailer adds more and more sparkle to their assortment, creating a winter wonderland that has girls shinning like a walking disco ball. I am feeling more into shimmer this holiday rather than sequins and raw metallic. There is something so magical about shimmer’s subtle iridescence as it glistens in the dusk of night.

WHAT I PACKED FOR: ART BASEL MIAMI 2011

Heather and I are at Art Basel in Miami this week and here are a few things I’m dreaming of having to wear this weekend! I really love the monochromatic look with pops of bright punchy accessories. (I might even give my right arm for those Altuzarra pumps…!) Basel has been great so far, amazing galleries and photos to come soon, stay tuned.

The Lake & Stars x Nike

Cult lingerie line, The Lake & Stars has collaborated with Nike to produce these one-of-a-kind Nike Air Force 1′s that take us back to 1990s hip hop with a modern update. The pop green sole and Lake & Stars logo on the cushioned tongue is too legit to quit, literally. Check out their new pop up store at 57 Walker (near Broadway) and scoop up a pair of your own. FEED & LINKS OF LONDON

On Tuesday night, Heather and I attended the launch of FEED Collection, a line of bracelets in collaboration with Links of London designed with fashion and charity in mind. Lauren Bush’s foundation, FEED, has been striving to end world hunger for almost six years now and these new bracelets are the next step in spreading the word and stopping the famine. With five bracelets total, represented by a different symbol and engraved with a number on the back, each style signifies the individual impact each bracelet has and is a constant reminder of the impact your purchase made.
